UN/LOCODE and Location Information in Shipsgo

Shipsgo provides location information based on the data shared by the carrier.

As long as the carrier provides the relevant location details, our API returns the port or destination together with its UN/LOCODE. The UN/LOCODE values used in Shipsgo are based on the official UNECE UN/LOCODE Code List, which provides standardized codes for locations used in international trade and transport.

It is also important to note that Shipsgo tracking is not limited to a predefined list of ports. Our system is carrier-data-driven, meaning the locations displayed in the tracking results depend on the information provided by the carrier. When a carrier shares a destination, port, inland location, or other relevant transport location, Shipsgo processes and returns that information together with the corresponding UN/LOCODE whenever available.
